Les Choux de Créteil Paris Illustrated Art Print

Les Choux de Créteil Paris Illustrated Art Print

Flower buds, cluster of clouds or corn on the cob! Les Choux de Créteil (aka the cabbages), by Gérard Grandval is one of the most oddly interesting Brutalist buildings in Paris.

The complex which consists of ten towers was built in the early 70s as an experimental approach to public housing needs. The petal shaped balconies, which give the buildings their unique appearance, were designed to allow privacy for the occupants.

In this print I want show an abstract close up, the rough texture enhancing the brutal surface of the building, but yet using hues of pink enhancing the softer curves which remind me of a rose bud.

Love it, hate it ... it's a stand out for me.
